Rance dam: link between Saint-Malo and Dinard
The Rance dam and tidal power plant are located at the mouth of the Rance estuary in the commune of La Richardais (between Dinard and Saint-Malo / Ille-et-Vilaine / Brittany region).
The aim of this industrial site is to produce hydroelectricity, a 100% renewable energy, using the power of the tide. Its construction also allowed the creation of a road linking Dinard to Saint-Malo and encouraged the development of tourist activities in the estuary.
