Created in 1989, the Cité du Livre houses 12 bookshops (old and modern books), art galleries, calligraphy and bookbinding workshops, and a dozen workshops for craftsmen and artists. Numerous events punctuate the life of the Cité du Livre: Book Festival, Book Night, Book Market, Lire en fête... Bécherel has been awarded the label "Petite Cité de Caractère".
